Our Mission

Sydney is a leader in public health, political strategy, and nonprofit growth and specializes in health equity, BIPOC outreach, and program development. Sydney has supported the development of national nonprofits, political campaigns in pivotal swing states, and local campaigns in her home state of Massachusetts. Having lived abroad in Brazil before returning to the United States, Sydney developed a deep sensitivity to the immigrant experience. For almost a decade Sydney has focused on public health equity and civil rights-focused program leadership. Sydney has a proven track record of managing complex concerns related to discrimination, cultural insensitivity, and structural inequities. Sydney created RJC along with her co-founders after noticing the gaps within the reproductive justice system and how the experiences of minoritized communities are often overlooked. Sydney’s motivation behind RJC is by uplifting and mobilizing the most marginalized communities we can then achieve reproductive health equity.

Metzli has a passion for maternal and reproductive health and has dedicated her professional career to dismantling the systems of oppression that continue to exacerbate poor reproductive and maternal health outcomes particularly for people of color. She serves as an advocate for those who are disproportionally affected by the disparities within our healthcare system, particularly queer, indigenous, and individuals of color. She is a dedicated advocate for reproductive health equity in Texas, working to ensure that individuals in rural and low-income communities across the state—particularly those living in reproductive health deserts—have access to the care they deserve. She also plays a vital role in supporting and protecting reproductive health clinics in larger urban centers. With extensive experience overseeing federal grants and special projects, Metzli has served as a Title X Project Director, managing key initiatives aimed at expanding access to health services. She has developed statewide clinic policies to ensure regulatory compliance and is responsible for coordinating logistics and reporting to the Office of Population Affairs. Metzli has led several groundbreaking initiatives, including the organization’s first reproductive community health needs assessment across its clinic network. This project provided crucial data to support funding efforts, improve access, and better understand patient demographics statewide. Additionally, she spearheaded the organization's first human subjects study, further advancing evidence-based approaches to reproductive health care.

Annie has worked in the sexual & reproductive health space for over 10 years. Starting as an administrative assistant, Annie worked for Planned Parenthood Federation of America. Annie is now the Manager of Patient Experience & Engagement at Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts. In this role, Annie addresses disparities in patient experience and identifies opportunities for the organization to better serve BIPOC and LGBTQ+ patients. Keen to learn more about the relationship between social stigmas and adverse health outcomes that affect women, girls & trans/non-binary people, Annie moved to London to study Global Public Health & Policy.  After finishing her MSc program in London, Annie joined Accrux, a health tech startup that was on a mission to improve communication between care providers and patients across England. As the company’s user base and product offering grew, Annie focused on initiatives that addressed the social determinants of health and promoted health equity & digital inclusion.

Michaelann is a creative marketing leader with deep roots in Boston’s arts and public health communities. Throughout her career, she has focused on building and bridging movements, bringing together diverse voices to drive meaningful change. Across every brand and organization she has led, Michaelann has developed impactful design and responsive digital strategies that authentically reach target communities. Her work in Massachusetts has underscored the importance of meeting people where they are, rather than tokenizing or sidelining the populations most in need of sexual and reproductive health care access.
